I bought this product off the rack for my grandsons kindergarten-age just before the holidays. I read some negative reviews on Amazon.com, and honestly I did not expect much “from the game.
Superficially, there are problems. The animation seems to have been designed by Charles M. Schulz, but the rest of the game has convinced me that the people who had never read the comics or seen the TV specials, has been created before. Anyway, the first words in the introduction sequence is spoken: “Peanuts”. The CD case itself has a German site, and my impression is that this game from the German programmers who know only English was designed as a second language. Some of the things the characters say during the game Peanuts are 100% in contrast with deceptively simple use of Schulz’s English.
Once you overcome the objections of the surface, the game is very fun. I solved my grandson over the course of four meetings away (for a week, but asked again and again to return to this topic). I honestly say that I solve this game without frequent references to the help file on the CD-ROM. Then again, I grew up with all the Sierra “Quest” games (Space Quest, Police Quest), none of whom could without buying the book traces are solved … at least here the solution is free! To be honest, I did not read the answers directly to my nephew, I gave him tips on what to do it with some dead ends.
As in any good game for children-oriented videos, the solution of the mystery is not the only goal of the game. There are some funny gags. There are nine games to play on the road, each with two levels of difficulty, and once that is achieved in a game, you can always play back. The games vary with the hand-eye coordination, problem-solving.
In short, a worthwhile game that is not so cheap that it seems.
